What is Coaching?

Coaching is the process of working with a life or business coach and taking a close look at what you want to improve.  A coach is there to help you examine your strengths and areas for improvement and do it without being judged or made to feel like something is wrong with you.  Even very successful people use coaches to help them fill in the gaps in their performance.  Coaches are helpful because they have an outside perspective that adds to yours.  I conduct coaching over the phone or via Skype.

Is Coaching Like Going to Counseling?

No, coaching is not a substittue for going to therapy or mental health services nor should it be.  If you believe that you need mental health service please contact a local mental health agency or hospital.  Coaching focuses on the present and then helps you develop a plan that will work for you moving forward.  Coaching doesn't focus on past events it helps you design a new way of doing things that helps you fix things to ensure a better fufutre.

What Are the Benefits of Coaching?

Coaching is a unique tool that helps you grow as you see fit.  The success of your coaching experience depends on what you put into it.  I only work with individuals who have reached the point where they are willing to commit to creating serious change in their lives.  My clients benefit because they put hard work into their lives and are willing to do it over time.  There are many benefits to coaching including feeling better about yourself, gaining more clarity about your life, planning proactively and doing things more effectively.

How Many Coaching Sessions Do I Need?

Everyone is different but the general rule is that it takes time to change behaviors.  This is because you built up your current behaviors over time and it will take some time to rearrange things and develope a new approach.  Clients tell me that they usually notice changes around four sessions because they've had a chance to reflect on the coaching process and work on their goals.  The key with coaching is to practice new behaviors and do it over time.

What Types of Coaching Are There?

People use coaching to work on various areas of their lives.  It doesn't really matter what you want to fix because the coaching process is designed to help you take a deep look at what you're currently doing and then make important adjustments so you can enjoy your life more.  I help people with various types of coaching including personal growth and development, professional development, relationship issues, leadership, management and career coaching.

Coaching can be used in many different positive ways and it's a different process for everyone.  It needs to work for you and make sense in your life to be effective.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if I can help you figure out if coaching is the right fit for you.  I look forward to hearing from you.
