Self Help Is the Ability We Have Inside to Affect Our Destiny and Live a Conscious Life

I appreciate when people are ready to help themselves succeed in new ways.  It's a big step to get to the point where you want to shift your course.

 

Coaching is a form of self help that allows people to find the answers within and build self-awareness.  I enjoy connecting with creative, open-minded people who love growing.

Coaching and self help go hand in hand.  As a life coach, I see coaching as wonderful tool that can help people succeed.  Coaching assumes that you have the ability and answers to help yourself and just need some positive support.

 

We’re not always taught how to take care of ourselves.  We pack our lives full of activities and experiences but we may not take the time to nurture ourselves.  Helping ourselves grow and thrive is important because it makes us more effective in all areas of our lives and helps us feel more balanced.  Try these ideas to bring some balance into your life and smooth out some of the bumps.

 

Stop.  Take a moment during your day to do nothing and just relax.  Lie down, take a nap, go for a walk or just look outside.  The idea is to just stop and enjoy a slower pace.

 

Breathe.  Take deep breaths, slow and controlled.  Inhale fully and exhale.  Think of yourself inhaling serenity and exhaling stress.

 

Think of something joyful and fun.  Sweep aside all the garbled noise that clutters your brain and focus on thinking of something that makes you feel great.

 

Find a way to vent.  Find someone who will listen to you without interruption and who will simply be there for you to talk about whatever you want.

 

Celebrate yourself.  Do nice things for yourself that don’t cost money.  Give yourself a hug or a pat on the back.  Say congratulatory things to yourself in the mirror.  Give yourself kudos for the things you’ve accomplished.

 

The key to taking care of yourself is to forget about others and focus on you.  Try these ideas to introduce some calm into your life and heal yourself.  You deserve it.

 

Creative iconoclasts come to me when they have decided to use a life coach to move in a new direction.  For some people it means a completely new career, for others it is adding a hobby and for many it is simply doing something for the first time or making a small change in their routine.  

 

Self help is about finding what works for you and coaching helps you clarify your situation and find answers.  Here are some self help ideas to help you figure out what you want to do.

 

Start small.  It’s much easier to start with small actions rather than trying to take on too much and becoming frustrated.

 

Be concrete.  Think about what you want to accomplish and then take small actions toward that goal.

 

Be consistent.  Keep doing things on an ongoing basis and make that routine part of your life.

 

Patience.  Change doesn’t happen overnight, it takes continuous action over time.

 

Celebrate.  Enjoy the ride as your work toward your dreams and pat yourself on the back on a job well done.

 

Try these ideas as a self help tool.  Modify them to fit your particular goals.  The whole point to thinking about these concepts is that change is natural and within our grasp.  We just have to be willing to go for it.
